Turkish Journal of Colorectal Disease is an official journal of the Turkish Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery to provide epidemiologic, pathologic, diagnostic and therapeutic studies relevant to the management of small intestine, colon, rectum, anus and pelvic floor diseases. It was launched in 1991. Although there were temporary interruptions in the publication of the journal due to various challenges, the Turkish Journal of Colorectal Disease has been published continually from 2007 to the present. It is published quarterly (March, June, September and December) as hardcopy and an electronic journal. The target audience of Turkish Journal of Colorectal Disease includes surgeons, pathologists, oncologists, gastroenterologists and health professionals caring for patients with a disease of the colon and rectum. The aim of Turkish Journal of Colorectal Disease is to publish original research papers of the highest scientific and clinical value at an international level. Furthermore, review articles, case reports, technical notes, letters to the editor, editorial comments, educational contributions and congress/meeting announcements are released. The Turkish name of the journal was formerly Kolon ve Rektum Hastalıkları Dergisi and the English name of the journal was formerly Journal of Diseases of the Colon and Rectum. Turkish Journal of Colorectal Disease is an independent peer-reviewed international journal printed in Turkish and English languages. Manuscripts are reviewed in accordance with “double-blind peer review” process for both referees and authors.
